Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders or chicken breast Cooked in chicken broth.
  • 8 cups chicken broth For cooking chicken.
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Adjust based on creaminess preference.
  • 1 stalk celery, diced For crunch and freshness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder Adds subtle onion flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt Enhances the celery flavor.
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper For seasoning.
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt To taste.

Instructions

Cooking Chicken

  • Start by cooking your chicken tenders or chicken breast in chicken broth. Bring the broth to a gentle simmer, then let the chicken cook through. You want the chicken to be tender enough to shred.
  • Once done, remove the chicken and allow it to cool slightly before shredding with two forks or cutting it into small cubes.

Preparing Vegetables

  • While the chicken cools, prepare your celery. Dice the stalk into small pieces and set aside.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the mayonnaise until evenly coated.
  • Add the diced celery into the mixture, stirring gently to combine.
  • Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, celery salt, black pepper, and salt. Mix again until everything is well combined.
  • Taste your chicken salad and adjust seasoning if needed.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate the chicken salad for at least an hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Use leftover chicken to save time. Adjust mayonnaise based on your texture preference. Chill before serving to improve flavor.
