Preparation

  • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large pot, combine chicken and chicken broth. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Cook until the chicken is tender, then remove from the pot and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in the same pot over medium heat, then add the onion and garlic. Sauté until softened and the onion is translucent.
  • Sprinkle in the flour while stirring to combine, then cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate raw flour taste.
  • Gradually whisk in the half and half and allow the mixture to thicken into a creamy texture.
  • Stir in seasonings: onion powder, mustard powder, thyme, rosemary, sage, and black pepper, along with the chicken bouillon.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the pot, add Worcestershire sauce and frozen vegetables, and gently combine until evenly coated.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to a standard baking temperature.
  • Transfer the chicken and vegetable mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly. Spoon warm mashed potatoes over the top.
  • Bake until the top is golden brown, enhancing flavors and creating a crispy layer.

Notes
