Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper on both sides, patting the seasoning into the skin.
  • Carefully place the seasoned chicken thighs skin-side down into the hot skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the chicken thighs to the other side and cook for another couple of minutes.

Cooking

  • Lower the heat and add the minced garlic to the skillet, stirring gently.
  • After about a minute, pour in the honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar, and stir well.
  • Cover the skillet and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, ensuring the sauce gently bubbles.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve warm, draped in the sticky glaze, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

Serve with rice or mashed potatoes, and store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
