Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings.
  • Dredge the seasoned chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add the whole garlic cloves and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle in 3 tablespoons of flour and stir continuously for a minute to create a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the chicken broth while ensuring there are no lumps.
  • Add the beef bouillon cube or better than bouillon, soy sauce, onion powder, dried thyme, and mustard powder. Stir and simmer for about three minutes.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer gently in the sauce for about 5 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat, and stir in the heavy cream and optionally, an additional ½ cup of Parmesan cheese.
  • Give everything a final stir to ensure the chicken is well-coated with the creamy sauce.

Notes

Ensure the chicken is patted dry before seasoning for better browning. Adjust the thickness of the sauce according to preference by modifying the amount of broth or cream. Consider using fresh herbs as a garnish for added color.
