  • 6 pieces boneless skinless chicken thighs Preferably of equal size for even cooking.
  • Salt and black pepper To taste.
  • 2 Tbsp salted butter Divided into 1 tbsp for cooking and 1 tbsp for the sauce.
  • 6 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 3 Tbsp honey Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce For a less salty flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp ground thyme Adds an aromatic flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger Adds warmth and depth.

Preparation

  • Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of salted butter over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Add the seasoned chicken thighs to the skillet and sear for several minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken thighs from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the remaining tablespoon of butter.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  • Add the honey and soy sauce, stirring to combine until a glaze-like consistency forms.
  • Sprinkle in the thyme and ginger, stirring well to incorporate.
  • Return the chicken thighs to the pan, making sure they are coated with the sauce.
  • Allow everything to simmer together for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Notes

Consider serving with steamed broccoli or over rice. Leftovers can be added to salads for a flavorful addition.
