Ingredients
  

For the skewers

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes Use fresh, quality chicken for best flavor.
  • Bamboo skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes Prevents burning on the grill.

For the honey garlic sauce

  • ¼ cup butter Melted.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Adds depth with umami flavor.
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch For thickening.
  • ¼ cup water For cornstarch slurry.

Preparation

  • Cut the boneless skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
  • Soak bamboo skewers in water for about 30 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves.
  • In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly pour into the sauce, stirring constantly until it thickens.

Grilling

  • Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, then grill skewers for a few minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Brush with honey garlic sauce during the last couple of minutes.

Serving

  • Let the skewers rest for a few minutes, then serve with remaining sauce on the side.

Notes

Serve over rice or alongside a fresh salad. Can be sliced and added to wraps or bowls for leftovers.
