Honey Garlic Asian Chicken Skewers

Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger

For the Chicken

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch chunks Use thighs for a juicier result.
  • 1 ½ tablespoons canola oil For grilling.
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon toasted sesame seeds For garnish.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the oyster sauce, ketchup, honey, chili garlic sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and freshly grated ginger. Stir until well blended.
  • Add the cut chicken thighs to the bowl and coat evenly with the marinade. Let it rest covered for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling

  • Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, leaving space between each piece.
  • Heat the grill over medium heat and brush with canola oil. Place the skewers on the grill and cook until brown and slightly charred, turning occasionally.
  • Baste with any leftover marinade while grilling.
  • Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  • Sprinkle with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a more pronounced garlic flavor, you can add more minced garlic to the marinade. Ensure to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
