  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Additional for searing.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (optional) Grated, for extra flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)

  • 2 tablespoons green onions (optional) Chopped, for garnishing.

Preparation

  • Prepare the chicken by trimming excess fat from thighs or pounding breasts to even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, mix honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and olive oil. Add grated ginger if using.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken and sear until golden brown.
  • Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the seared chicken, ensuring it's well coated. Cook until the sauce bubbles gently.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, sprinkle cornstarch into the bubbling sauce and stir to combine without lumps.

Finishing

  • Remove cooked chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Serve over rice for a complete meal. Adds extra flavor by pairing with steamed vegetables or a simple side salad. Leftovers are ideal for wraps or salads.
