  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water for sauce thickening

For Skewering

  • 10-12 bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes Soaking helps prevent burning while grilling

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Thread chicken cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers, leaving space between each cube.

Cooking

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
  • Whisk in honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Bring to simmer.
  • In a separate bowl, dissolve cornstarch in ¼ cup of water. Stir into the sauce until thickened and glossy.
  • For grilling, place skewers on the grill, cooking for 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through. For oven, arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, broiling last 2-3 minutes after brushing with sauce.
  • Let skewers rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with extra honey garlic sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Ensure chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature for safety.
