  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano herbal note
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes subtle heat
  • Chiffonaded fresh basil for garnish, adds freshness
  • Additional grated fresh parmesan cheese for garnish and extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until it shimmers slightly.
  • Carefully add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet, allowing them to sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once browned, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add the minced garlic, stirring for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Gradually pour in the low-sodium chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring until well blended.
  • Stir in the grated parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce.
  • Add in the sun-dried tomatoes, oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes, stirring to combine.
  • Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them in the sauce and letting it simmer until heated through.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chiffonaded basil and additional grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve over rice or pasta, with crusty bread, or alongside fresh vegetables or salad. Holds up well as leftovers.
