  • 1/2 cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Essential for seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic to create the sauce.

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
  • Sear the seasoned chicken thighs for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken in the skillet, making sure to cover the chicken.
  • Lower the heat and let the chicken simmer in the sauce, stirring occasionally.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
  • Optionally, sprinkle chopped green onions or sesame seeds over the finished dish.

Notes

For best results, ensure chicken is patted dry before seasoning. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water to thin it out. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
