Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb Ground chicken
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp White pepper

Cooking ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive oil For frying
  • 2 tbsp Butter or ghee
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Honey or agave syrup
  • 1/2 cup Water

Garnish

  • 2 tbsp Spring onion or chives, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Grab a large bowl. Add the ground chicken, and break the egg into the mixture. Sprinkle in the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and white pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined.
  • With wet hands, roll portions of the mixture into small meatballs, roughly 1 to 2 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate.

Cooking

  • In a frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs carefully and sear for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the browned meatballs to the side of the pan. Add butter and minced garlic into the pan, stirring until garlic is golden.
  • Pour in the soy sauce and water, deglazing the pan for about 10 seconds, then add honey and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the meatballs to the pan and toss them in the simmering sauce for about a minute until coated.

Notes

Keep hands wet when rolling meatballs to avoid sticking. Adjust honey to preference.
